So, this is my first blog ever. Awesome.
I figured I might as well jump on board with the whole blog thing since I already joined the Facebook bandwagon.
It's amazing how fast school flies by! This is my last semester to be in college, it's a very strange feeling... It will only get weirder come the end of this summer when I'm not packing my things to log in another year at school. Life really does move by fast! This semester is going to be incredible no doubt. I only have 12 hours remaining, 2 of which are internship hours. So the whole class thing is a non-issue this Spring.
Speaking of internship hours...

I'm not longer interning with Provident-Integrity Music Group! Kinda sad, but necessary. After 3 semester of interning in the Marketing Department over there, I decided it'd probably be best to intern elsewhere with my last 2 precious hours of internship credit. I'll miss them though. I learned a ton from these guys. Good bye Cool Springs!
Peace!
Instead, this semester I'm interning in the A&R (Artist and repertoire) department at Word Entertainment. And they reside in this building...

It's the building where the country music division of Capitol Records used to be located. It's right off of Music Row, in Downtown Nashville, so, pretty cool. I'm learning a lot from these guys, and it's more in line with what I would like to do in the music industry if I decide to work in Nashville when I graduate. The people in this department within any label work directly with the artists. They decide: who to sign, what songs make the cut, and much more that I don't feel like typing. Plus they spend time outside the office hanging out with the artists in an effort to get to know them. Interesting stuff.... at least to me ;-)
This is my life this semester, I'm also valeting with PMC since my internship is non-paid (grrrrr). So lifes pretty crazy, and trying to come home on occasional weekends can be tough. But you make time for the things you love, and I miss so much in Birmingham. Family, Emily, friends, Shades Mountain, hang-out locations; there's always a lot of things drawing me home.
I would like to thank Google Image Search for making this post possible. I'm praying these images weren't copyrighted, but I really don't care if they were. That's everything, later!
